We spent the last four days semi-camping on the southern side of Lake Sugema outside of Keosauqua in Southeast Iowa. We roasted hot dogs and s’mores over a campfire, went for hikes in Lacy Keosauqua State Park and explored the little villages of Van Buren County. It was quiet and relaxing, and the weather was just perfect.
On our first hike along the Des Moines River, I put my iPhone in my back pocket. At some point on the way back, I felt something touch my leg, and I wondered what it was but didn’t stop to look. Well, it turned out to be my phone. I thought about going back for it, but combing two miles of ankle deep leaves seemed pretty fruitless. As a last ditch effort, Keegan texted the phone asking the person who found it to call his phone. Within a couple hours, someone actually did call! They met us in town and delivered it back to me safe and sound. Only in Iowa!
