Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a wonderful and relaxing Memorial Day week-end. On Friday night, Keegan and I went to see Bridesmaids. We rarely go to the movies, so it’s always a special treat. The movie was sooooo raunchy and funny with just the right touch of sentimentality. Melissa McCarthy was totally awesome, as was Kristin Wiig. We both agreed we would go see it again, and I think it might be my favorite comedy since Wedding Crashers. Note: this is definitely not one to watch with your parents.
Yesterday, I had a booth at the first Market Day of 2011. This year, the event moved to the corner of 4th and Walnut at the new location of the Des Moines Social Club. There were a ton of people there, and I was so thrilled by the general level of excitement by the crowd. I can’t even count how many times I heard people say that they were amazed by the amount of talent and cool things as they were walking by. I had a moment before the show started to pop down to Java Joe’s for a coffee, and as I headed back to the Kirkwood through the bustling Farmer’s Market, I thought that Des Moines is really such a cool place to live. There’s so much going on, but it still feels like a small town with great community and just an overall positive attitude.
Today, we’re going to a graduation party in the afternoon, and then having a couple friends over. Aside from that, I’m planning to take it easy today and tomorrow and work on some new jewelry designs that have been floating around in my head. I’m also going to sew some new pillow covers for our couch because the pillows I bought at Target a couple years ago are really really sad looking. And tomorrow, I would love to go to the driving range to see if I can still hit a golf ball after so many months. Whatever your plans, I hope you have a stress free and relaxing start to the summer!
