Susquehanna River Kayak Trip

Susquehanna River Kayak Trip

This space has been quiet for the past two weeks because I traveled back to Pennsylvania (by way of Baltimore) to visit with family and friends for ten days. This is the longest vacation I’ve taken in years, and it was really nice to do nothing but spend time with people I care about and relax. I wish the heat has been a little less extreme, but we made the best of it and had a great time. On the first Saturday, we took a kayaking trip down the Susquehanna River which was organized by the local library. Having grown up just a block away from the river, I spent quite a bit of time on the banks, fishing, exploring, riding rope swings and building camp fires. But, until last week, I had never seen it from a boat. The weather on the morning of the trip was absolutely perfect – not at all too hot – and we had a wonderful three hours or so on the water. I didn’t want to risk taking my beloved camera with me, so I snapped a bunch of photos using my phone. Next time, I’ll be sure to buy a waterproof case because there were so many gorgeous views I wanted to capture.
